Qsfp28-100g-er4: Reshaping the future of high-speed data transmission

In today's data-driven era, high-speed, long-distance data transmission has become an indispensable part of all walks of life. From data centers to cloud computing, from large enterprise networks to service providers' high-speed network infrastructure, there is an urgent need for an optical communication module that can cope with large-scale data traffic and complex network environments. It is in this context that the Qsfp28-100g-er4 optical module came into being, and with its excellent technical performance and innovative advantages, it has become the focus of industry attention.

The Qsfp28-100g-er4 optical module, the full name of which is Quad Small Form-factor Pluggable 28 100 Gigabit Ethernet Extended Range 4 optical module, is a 100Gb/s module designed for optical communication applications that comply with the Ethernet 100G BASE-ER4 standard. It not only meets the current network's demand for high-speed, long-distance transmission, but also provides strong support for future network expansion.

From the technical specifications, the Qsfp28-100g-er4 optical module adopts the form factor that complies with the QSFP28 Multi-Source Agreement (MSA) and supports DDM digital diagnosis, enabling it to operate stably under various harsh external working conditions, including temperature, humidity and EMI interference. The module uses WDM multiplexing wavelength division technology to convert 4 25Gb/s electrical data inputs into 4 LAN WDM optical signals, and then multiplex them into a single channel for 100Gb/s optical transmission. At the receiving end, the module demultiplexes the 100Gb/s optical input into 4 LAN WDM optical signal channels, and then converts them into 4 electrical signal output channels. This design not only improves the efficiency of data transmission, but also ensures the integrity and stability of the data.

The wavelength range of the Qsfp28-100g-er4 optical module is 1295nm to 1309nm, and the center wavelengths of the four LAN WDM channels are 1295nm, 1300nm, 1304nm and 1309nm respectively. By using a high-performance cooled DFB transmitter and a high-sensitivity APD receiver, the module can reach a transmission distance of up to 30 kilometers without forward error correction (FEC) technology, and up to 40 kilometers when using FEC technology. This feature gives it a significant advantage in long-distance communication environments, such as applications in optical communication backbone networks, and can also meet the needs of modern cities for communication speed.

In addition to high-speed and long-distance transmission, the Qsfp28-100g-er4 optical module also has the characteristics of low power consumption and compatibility with a variety of optical fibers and connection methods. Compared with traditional optical modules, the Qsfp28-100g-er4 optical module has a significant reduction in power consumption, which has a positive effect on energy conservation and emission reduction.

In practical applications, the Qsfp28-100g-er4 optical module provides an economical and applicable long-distance transmission solution for enterprises and data centers. Simply insert two Qsfp28-100g-er4 modules into the 100G switch port and connect them with an LC duplex single-mode patch cord to achieve 40km 100G long-distance transmission. This solution not only simplifies the transmission network, reduces relay equipment, but also reduces maintenance costs, providing strong support for enterprises and operators to build data center network platforms for the cloud computing era.
